The EHESO website currently provides a link to the transitional version of the Benchmarking Tool for Higher Education Institutions, which is available at the following link:
This Benchmarking Tool for Higher Education Institutions builds upon the methodological work performed in the predecessor U- Multirank project and currently largely maintains the same structure and approach for visualisations. A redesigned tool is expected to be developed in 2025 and made accessible.
The benchmarking tool allows the user to identify relevant higher education institutions so that an institution may learn from to improve its performance. Finding peer institutions can be a challenge. The benchmarking tool includes comparable data on higher education institutions across the globe and the benchmarking tool provides HEIs with an intuitive user interface that allows them to find and analyse relevant institutions in a most flexible way.
The benchmark tool helps identify those institutions you wanted to compare with and from which learnings can be drawn. This step is named “Find your benchmarks". The second step is looking in detail at the selection: what are their names, where are they located and what are their general characteristics?
On the selected institutions several analyses are possible:
- compare the performance on all indicators in a simple (univariate) way;
- explore the relationship between different indicators and dimensions of performance;
- compare performances through time.
