Register now for the EHESO 2026/2027 data collection
Registration is now open for the 2026/2027 round of EHESO data collection which will begin in November 2026. The data collection comprises two surveys: an institutional survey (required) and a student survey (optional) covering 21 fields of education.
The institutional survey feeds the EHESO Benchmarking Tool for Higher Education Institutions, built on the established U-Multirank approach, allowing universities to compare their performance against peer institutions across European countries and identify their strengths and areas for improvement.
To reduce the reporting burden, much of the underlying data of the EHESO Benchmarking Tool for Higher Education Institutions is drawn from national statistical offices through the European Tertiary Education Register (ETER) data collection. However, more than 30 % of the more thematic indicators can only be provided directly by the higher education institutions. Active participation is therefore essential to ensure a complete institutional profile.
The student survey adds the student perspective concerning teaching and learning as well as infrastructure; this supports the comparison of study options for prospective students. The student assessments will be part of the upcoming EHESO European Student Hub and its accompanying “Study in Europe Radar” guidance tool.
Beyond benchmarking, participation in the EHESO surveys increases an institution’s visibility across Europe and supports strategic planning, partnership-building and engagement in policy dialogue at national and European level.
Registration is open now and should be completed before the data collection opens in November 2026. A single registration covers both surveys. Institutions can register using the online registration form.
Please note that participation in the 2026 data collection is open only to higher education institutions in European countries.
