Information providers / counselling structures

At a general level, public authorities share information about non-formal and informal learning, and quality of youth work, as part of their statutory duties under the Youth Act

Regarding information providers in the sector of informal and lifelong learning, the ongoing project Digivisio 2030 can be mentioned. The Ministry of Education and Culture’s press release (in Finnish) states that the programme is promoting the objectives of Sanna Marin’s Government Programme. However, it is worth noting that the programme is not explicitly mentioned in the current Government Programme.

The main goals and steps of the consortium programme are presented, for example, in the Webinar: Digivisio 2030 – Building the future of learning (Recording of the webinar uploaded on YouTube).

Awareness raising initiatives

As mentioned in Youth Wiki Finland 6.1 General context there are broad options for non-formal learning possibilities, and thanks to their long history and statutory nature they are well-known among citizens. Often, at least in part, modes of non-formal learning are also financed with public funding.

The previously mentioned Webinar states that one the main objectives of Digivisio 2030 programme is to gather information and pathways to continuous learning opportunities into one place. The programme can therefore also be regarded as an awareness-raising initiative.
