Information providers

The information providers for volunteering activities associated with specific Greek public organisations are usually the authorities themselves, unless there is a specific contract, which involves other public/private organisations for this task.

The information provider for the EU volunteering opportunities is mainly the Greek State Scholarships Foundation (IKY), which publishes calls on EU volunteering and other international opportunities, as well as the Youth and Lifelong Learning Foundation (INEDIVIM).

Key initiatives

The initiatives to disseminate information on volunteering activities, depend on the planning of each authority. There is no legislation regarding the usage of the particular means to promote volunteering. Often, the public organisations publish announcements about volunteering on their official websites and/or Social Media pages to inform any interested parties. Other ways of dissemination include the announcement of volunteering activities through press releases and press conferences.

If there is a specific budget for the dissemination of the volunteering activities, the public organisation may outsource the promotion/dissemination tasks to a private company, after following the required legal processes for the procurement of services.
