Forthcoming policy developments

At the end of 2023, the Ministry of Education submitted for public discussion the National Programme For Youth 2023-2032 (youth volunteering is one of the key areas covered in the programme), which will replace the existing one (expired in 2022). To date, it has not yet been adopted.

Ongoing debates

The Ministry of Education aims to foster an in-depth discussion on the recording of non-formally and informally acquired skills. To achieve this, a working group was established in collaboration with the Ministry of Labour, Family, Social Affairs and Equal Opportunities, the Ministry of the Economy, Tourism and Sport, the Ministry of Public Administration, and key actors from the education system, as well as the public, private, and non-governmental sectors. The initiative focuses on enhancing the credibility of recording by improving the quality and verifiability of information, increasing the visibility of recording systems for both users and providers, ensuring greater interoperability between systems through a common platform, and securing official recognition of the system by the state.
