Forthcoming policy developments
Since 2023 there is an ongoing discussion with regards to the establishment of the status of the artist. According to the Press Conference of the Deputy Minister of Culture, Dr. Vasiliki Kassianidou, on 21 March 2024, the bill that has been drafted will be submitted to a public consultation in the coming months and then to the House of Representatives.
Moreover, the Youth Card that was described in section 8.4, according to the Press Conference, will be implemented in 2024 as well for young people turning 18 in the year 2024.
Ongoing debates
Α public consultation was also initiated at the beginning of 2024 by the Deputy Ministry of Culture, targeting theater organizations, groups, and individuals actively involved in the field of theater creation. The aim is to gather constructive comments/opinions on the draft “Thymeli” Plan for the second half of 2024.
