Programmes supporting the mobility of youth workers (September 2024)
The mobility of youth workers enhances the quality of youth work by fostering the exchange of knowledge and best practices. This can help the transfer of innovative ideas, methodologies and approaches and enrich existing local strategies.
Alongside the opportunities offered by the Erasmus+ and European Solidarity Corps programmes, eight countries have established national programmes supporting youth workers mobility. They promote study trips, job shadowing experiences, participation in workshops, seminars and conferences in other countries. Programmes can also support internal mobility projects between countries’ regions and local actors. In most cases, national programmes envisage funding for mobility projects to cover the expenses of participants. In some cases, the mobility projects are part of the continuous professional development of youth workers.
