Existence of a national strategy to increase young people's political and civil society participation

There is no overarching national strategy on youth participation. However, in the development of a national youth strategy (see 1.3 national youth strategy), young people where intensively consulted. The process was outlined by the State Secretary for Health, Welfare and Sport in a letter to Parliament in May 2024: Process proposal National Youth Strategy (Procesvoorstel Nationale Jeugdstrategie).

The Social Service Time (maatschappelijke diensttijd MDTDoe mee met MDT) program is a large scale initiative to promote civil society participation, see 2.2 Administration and governance of youth volunteering
