Policy Framework

As already described in Section 2.9, the Ministry of Education, Sport and Youth implemented a project for the development of a mechanism, for the validation and recognition of non-formal and informal learning (including volunteering). More information on this project entitled 'Establishment of Validation Mechanisms for non-formal and informal Learning - Pilot Implementation' (Θέσπιση Μηχανισμών Επικύρωσης Mη-Tυπικής και Άτυπης Μάθησης – Πιλοτική Εφαρμογή) can be found in Chapter 6.10. 

Furthermore, in the context of the International Volunteer Year (IVY) 2026, Cyprus, with the Pan Cyprian Volunteerism Coordinative Council (PVCC) designated as the national focal point, is expected to coordinate initiatives and activities aimed at promoting volunteering and civic engagement.
