Supporting young entrepreneurs in the cultural and creative sector

Within the framework of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan “Greece 2.0”, the Ministry of Culture implements digital transformation projects in the cultural and creative sectors. These projects are carried out through the «Information Society» , which acts as the implementing body for the relevant initiatives. The projects are funded by the Recovery and Resilience Facility (Greece 2.0) and concern the development of digital tools to support professionals in the cultural and creative sectors.

Under this framework, the implementation of a series of digital platforms is foreseen, including:

A platform for Greek handicrafts, with a budget of approximately €1 million, aimed at promoting, showcasing and connecting Greek handicrafts and Greek creators.

A platform for the management of archaeological sites, with a budget of approximately €400,000, designed to improve the management of archaeological sites and the cultural activities carried out within them.

A training platform for employees in the cultural and creative sectors, with a budget of approximately €1 million, which provides training and skills development in the fields of culture and cultural management and is addressed to professionals in the sector.

These projects fall under the pillar of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan that concerns the modernisation and strengthening of the resilience of key sectors of the Greek economy. Their objective is to enhance the digital management of cultural heritage, develop skills in the cultural and creative sectors, and support professionals and creators active in these fields.

In addition, the Ministry of Culture has established a Registry of Professionals in the Cultural and Creative Sector, which aims to record professionals active in the fields of culture and the creative industries. This registry serves as a tool for the development of targeted support policies and facilitates access for professionals in the sector to training and skills development initiatives.
