See Paragraph 7.3 on Public Health Guidelines for 2014-2020.

Improving the mental health of young people

The Centre for Disease Prevention and Control implements the public health policy in the country, including constantly organises different campaigns and informative materials for the promotion of mental health, for example, “Do not Look Aside” (Nenovērsies), Suicide Risk Factors (Pašnāvību riska faktori) on signs and factors for teenagers, etc.

Population Survey on Income and Living Conditions 2021 carried out by the Central Statistical Bureau (CSB) of Latvia show that more than half (54.6 %) of the Latvian population aged 16-24 believes that the Covid-19 crisis had a negative impact on their mental health. 43.7 % of the population believe that it had no impact, while 1.7 % of the population was positively affected by the Covid-19 crisis.
