Education, training and skills recognition

Having in mind the fact that youth work is not a recognized profession in Montenegro, that is, there is no occupational standard, it is hard to set competence frameworks or quality standards guiding youth workers and youth work activities. As for now, it is up to youth workers themselves to practice youth work professionally and responsibly.

The important step in standardisation of youth work has been done by NGOs. At the initiative of Forum MNE youth umbrella organisation (Youth Network of Montenegro) has developed Children and Youth Protection policy which applies to all its members.  This policy is crucial for ensuring the safety, well-being, and healthy development of children and young people who participate in various youth programs and activities.
