8. Creativity and Culture
The current situation of young people in Montenegro in the field of creativity and culture is reflected through a series of challenges, but also through promising opportunities. Young people in Montenegro are faced with specific social, economic and cultural factors that shape their role in the creative industry and cultural scene of the country.
Education and access to the creative sector: Although in Montenegro, within the University of Montenegro there are art academies (Faculty of Fine Arts, Faculty of Dramatic Arts and Music Academy), as well as a number of courses in the field of art and creative industries, access to quality education and resources for development Creative skills are often limited. Young talents face the challenge of accessing resources and support to develop their skills in art, music, literature and other creative fields.
Employment and economic independence: Young artists and creatives face difficulties in finding stable jobs, especially in the fields of fine arts, which can lead to economic uncertainty and difficulties in achieving a sustainable income in the field of creative work.
Lack of infrastructure and support: Montenegro faces challenges in the development of infrastructure and support for creative industries. The lack of modern studios, modern exhibition spaces and financial resources often limits the opportunities of young artists and creatives.
Cultural diversity and identity: Montenegro has a rich cultural heritage, but young people face issues of identity and preservation of tradition while at the same time trying to express their individuality through contemporary creative expressions.
Cultural scene and promotion: Despite the challenges, Montenegro has a vibrant cultural scene and numerous festivals, exhibitions and events that allow young artists to express their talents. However, the promotion and distribution of their works, both inside the country and outside it, can be challenging, especially in the domain of intersectoral cooperation in the administrative part related to this area.
Despite these challenges, there are also many positive aspects of the current state of youth in Montenegro in the area of creativity and culture. Young people are extremely dedicated to developing their skills and creating innovative works. Awareness of the importance of culture and creativity as a factor in the development of society is also increasing.
Also, there is increasing support for various projects, grants and initiatives that provide young artists with the opportunity to develop and promote their works. This includes international cooperation that enables Montenegrin young creatives to connect with colleagues from other countries and spread their influence.
In conclusion, the current state of youth in Montenegro in the field of creativity and culture is reflected through challenges, but also through the enthusiasm and commitment of young people who strive to contribute to the country's rich cultural scene. It is important to provide support and resources so that these talented individuals can develop and contribute to the cultural and creative wealth of Montenegro.
In 2023, in Montenegro, two strategies were adopted at the national level targeting young people in the fields of culture and creativity development.
