Information providers
By Order No. A1-1048 of 28 October 2020, the Minister approved the Youth Information and Counseling Description. The purpose of youth information and counselling is to ensure that young people are provided with objective, high-quality, understandable and comprehensive information.
Youth information and counselling can be of two types:
-
consultations provided directly (live consultations);
-
consultations provided remotely (remote consultations).
Youth information and counselling can be general and specialized:
-
during general youth information and counselling, the employee providing youth information and counselling services helps the young person identify information that meets their problems or needs and, as needed, sends it to organizations and (or) institutions providing specialized youth information and counselling services;
-
during specialized youth information and counselling, information and consultations in a certain area (health, employment, etc.) are provided in order to answer a specific question of a young person that requires specific knowledge.
The Agendy of Youth Affairs disseminates information about youth work on their website where the information is divided into main three sections on 1) Open Youth Work; 2) Mobile youth work; and 3) Working with youth on the street. Each section provides actual and up to date information, including documents, and links to documents, studies, guidelines and descriptions related to each type of youth work, for example, The Description of differences between the main forms of youth work.
Key initiatives
Lithuanian Non-formal Education Association has a dedicated website with information about youth work that complements information about youth work provided by The Department of Youth Affairs. The Association develops and coordinates motivation and recognition systems for achievements and uses the global Digital Open Badges standards to capture, measure, and recognize achievements. It cooperates with the Agency of Youth Affairs in order to develop tailor-made systems for assessing and recognizing non-formal education achievements including non-formal learning, recognition of volunteering and youth work.
