Whatsup! – Youth Organisation Fair
As part of the European Year of Youth celebrations, a year dedicated to shining a light on the importance of European youth to build a better future EUPA Malta and Aġenzija Żgħażagħ hosted a national activity called “Whatsup!” aimed at young people and youth organisations.
The event took the form of a Youth Fair for young people to celebrate the European Year of Youth, where Youth organisations promoted their work, in terms of non-formal education and their organisation to entice young people to join their organisations. Youth Organisations, brought with them material to promote, and share with the public.
National Tool Fair 2022
In preparation of the International Tool Fair - 'Tool UP - Your vision on sustainability' that was held in Marseille. Aġenzija Żgħażagħ and EUPA organised the National Tool Fair 2022. Through this activity active youth workers present a tool they would have developed that focuses on non-formal education.
A panel made up of youth workers and non-formal educators reviewed the presented tools and chose the best one to participate in the event in France.
‘Create Your Shape – Discover Your Potential’ - Non-formal education information campaign
In 2022 Aġenzija Żgħażagħ launched a promotional and information campaign entitled ‘Create Your Shape – Discover Your Potential’. This campaign targets young people and intends to increase their awareness on the benefits of non-formal education activities in enhancing their independent living skills, employment skills and life skills in general.
The campaign was launched during a non-formal education forum, also organised by Aġenzija Żgħażagħ, entitled “Spaces with a View”. During this conference various non-formal education stakeholders participated in a series of workshops during which they drafted recommendations and proposals focusing on the recognition and the values of non-formal learning which were later presented to policymakers.
Through the campaign ‘Create Your Shape – Discover Your Potential’ non-formal education is presented as an organised educational activity outside the established formal education system. Non-formal education is intended to ensure a more holistic approach to the development, well-being and empowerment of young people. Non-formal education complements the formal education provided by schools and can also make up for some shortfalls or gaps within formal education encompassing activities that can include sports, arts, and culture as well as some leisure activities that can serve training to promote the concept and raise awareness of active citizenship. A series of videos produced by Aġenzija Żgħażagħ aims to promote these activities with young people and encourage them to discover their potential.
