Last update: 23 February 2024

Green volunteering is not available to young people from BiH and not offered by the state institutions. Opportunities offered at the state level come from civil society organizations operating at the state level or from international organizations and programs.

The "Let's Do It" project in BiH started in 2012, and so far, 191,981 volunteers have participated in the volunteer actions of cleaning up illegal waste dumps and planting trees. The result was that about 15,370 tons of waste was cleaned and 475,716 seedlings of various types of trees were planted. The volunteer actions "Let's Do It - clean the land in one day" and "Let's Do It - a million seedlings in one day" have been organized in 115 municipalities and cities so far, and their goal is to cover all municipalities in BiH with the project. "Let's Do It" in BiH is part of the global movement "Let's do it World", with 168 participating countries and more than 35,000,000 volunteers. The official organizer of "Let's Do It" volunteer actions in BiH is the Citizens' Association "Ruke" from Sarajevo.

The ecological society "Bistro - Hrabre Žene Kruščice" is an association of citizens in Vitez fighting for the preservation of the Kruščica River, but also for the preservation of all rivers and riversides in BiH and prevention of building hydroelectric power plants.

Both associations enable the same participation for young people as for all other citizens.
