Green volunteering

The  Centre for Ecological Learning Luxembourg (CELL) offers informal volunteering opportunities and voluntary services. The centre is financially supported by the Ministry of Environment, Climate and Sustainable Development. The Repair Café Luxembourg, founded in 2013, is one project of CELL. It organises events in different Luxembourgish municipalities where repairers offer free assistance for the repair of technical equipment. Interested people can engage as repairman.

Transition minett is an NGO that offers projects in the domain of urban gardening, sustainable consumption and renewable energies. Founded in 2011, it aims at sensitising people with regard to these issues and offers opportunities for informal volunteering in different projects, such as the Voluntary Cooperation Service, the Volunteering Programme of the United Nations or the programme of the junior professional officers at the United Nations Agencies.

Green production and consumption

'Food4future' is a main top-level programme which covers several actions targeting young people. The programme aims to change the eating habits of students in canteens, to reduce the impact on the environment and to raise awareness of sustainable food. It has been implemented in all Luxembourgish school and university canteens.
