Green volunteering

In Greece, the following Non-Governmental Organizations develop voluntary actions:

ELIX, which has implemented a number of voluntary actions in various regions of Greece, with the aim of protecting the environment, preserving cultural heritage, promoting non-formal education and strengthening social cohesion, while at the same time supporting the mission of thousands of volunteers from Greece in voluntary work programs abroad.

Arcturos,  carries out actions for the protection and management of wild life, as well as the natural environment in the area of the organization in Florina, but also throughout Greece. It also coordinates volunteer exchange programs, in collaboration with the General Secretariat for Youth and the European Volunteering Service EVS. It also participates in awareness raising, information and environmental education activities (actions with students or groups of children in schools & other educational institutions).

Greenpeace, is an independent, non-profit environmental organization. Its campaigns focus on climate, energy and the exploitation of natural resources.

Green production and consumption

There are no major top-level policies, programs, projects or initiatives to encourage youth participation in green production and consumption other than those previously mentioned.
