The KOSGEB 2024-2028 Strategic Plan emphasizes fostering entrepreneurship culture in Türkiye by strengthening training programs, increasing financial support mechanisms, and enhancing cooperation between public and private sectors. The plan highlights the importance of integrating entrepreneurship education into both formal and non-formal education systems, promoting role models, and recognizing successful entrepreneurs.
One of the primary initiatives supporting entrepreneurship awareness is the KOSGEB Applied Entrepreneurship Training, designed to equip individuals with essential skills such as business planning, financial management, and market analysis. These trainings aim to ensure that new businesses are established on solid foundations and that entrepreneurship culture is widely disseminated across the country.
KOSGEB also conducts training-of-trainers programs for academicians to expand entrepreneurship education at universities. Under this initiative, 200 academicians from various universities have received specialized training to deliver high-quality entrepreneurship education.
To recognize and reward entrepreneurial success, KOSGEB organizes the KOSGEB SME Awards Ceremony. This event showcases the achievements of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and entrepreneurs, demonstrating their contributions to the national economy. Awards are granted in various categories to highlight innovation, sustainability, and business excellence.
Furthermore, KOSGEB supports participation in domestic and international fairs to encourage entrepreneurship and innovation, providing SMEs and entrepreneurs with valuable networking and market expansion opportunities.
Networks and partnerships
The Development Agencies, established under the Law on Establishment, Coordination, and Duties of Development Agencies, play a crucial role in fostering entrepreneurship through collaboration between public institutions, private sector organizations, and non-governmental organizations (NGOs). These agencies support entrepreneurship initiatives by facilitating training programs, business development activities, and financial assistance mechanisms aimed at SMEs and startups.
The Ministry of Youth and Sports also actively contributes to promoting entrepreneurship among young people. Through its Youth Centers, the Ministry organizes applied entrepreneurship trainings in cooperation with KOSGEB, local NGOs, and private sector representatives. These trainings provide young entrepreneurs with the knowledge and resources necessary to establish and sustain their own businesses.
The 12th Development Plan (2024-2028) also emphasizes fostering an entrepreneurial mindset among young people, particularly through enhanced educational programs, mentorship opportunities, and financial incentives for startups. The plan highlights the importance of digital and green entrepreneurship, encouraging the adoption of new technologies and sustainable business models in emerging industries.
