In Hungary, in recent years, there were no legal frameworks and key policy programmes, projects or initiatives enabling or encouraging young people to participate in political processes electronically. The National Youth Council (Nemzeti Ifjúsági Tanács) has a project called the National Youth Strategy Roadshow ('Mit Szólsz Hozzá? Roadshow') that uses e-consultation method where young people can express their opinion through az online questionnaire (for more information, see 5.4).

In 2026, the Tempus Public Foundation launched a grant called Youth Participation Activities (Ifjúsági Részvételi Tevékenységek) under Erasmus+ Programme. The aim of the grant is to support projects that enhance alternative, cross-sectoral, innovative - even digital forms of - participation of young people. The participation activities can help to have conversation between youth and decision-makers and to strengthen the participation of young people in democratic life. The projects have to be implemented through non-formal learning activities such as workshops, debate games, training, campaigns or digital meetings. The target groups are 13–30-year-old young people and decision-makers.
